Gorgeous skin with drugstore bargains?  Sure, it's possible.

I love this piece Good Morning America produced featuring three Beverly Hills dermatologists who suggested drugstore finds that can help you get glowing, "celebrity" skin without spending a fortune.  You have to click the link to watch the entire story to get the product information.

Let's cut to the chase, here is a rundown of the items suggested by Dr. Susan EvansDr. Harold Lancer and Dr. Ava Shamban:
Biore Pore strips
Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips
BiorĂ© Deep Cleansing Pore Strips - do you remember when these debuted?  My friends and I spent hours ripping these things off our noses and ogling over our blackheads. #CollegeMemories.

Skin Authority + HSN Brighten & Firm Duo
My friends at Skin Authority have a killer duo that will make your beautiful visage even tighter...in a good way. Introducing the Brighten & Firm Duo

Their Brighten & Firm Duo features Skin Authority's Resurfacing Accelerator and Tri-Power Peptide Hydrator which work synergistically to rev-up cell turnover and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The peptides strengthen cells to uncover skin that is firm and lifted.

Individually these products are the bomb but when used together clinical studies show that the Duo increases firmness by 27%, improves moisture up to 44% and reduces fine lines by 23%.

About Resurfacing Accelerator
This is a gentle, leave-on peel that can be added to any at-home routine. Think of it as cardio for your skin. How? It speeds up the turnover of old skin cells and brings in fresh skin cells to the surface. I love it.

About Tri-Power Peptide Hydrator
Talk about a triple threat. It contains three powerful peptide chains that help firm, lift, tone and brighten your skin.

Skins Authority Makes Its HSN Debut
Skin Authority CEO Celeste Hilling will be sharing this dynamic duo and her impressive career narrative with HSN! Tune in October 30th at 8pm ET (7pm CT) for The Beauty Report where you can pick up the duo for $79! It normally retails for $138.50.

10 Best Bargain Facial Moisturizers Under $30

It's easy to drop $300 or more on moisturizer for your face. There's nothing wrong with pricey face creams but you can get a lot of bang for your beauty buck for less.
Click on any item to learn more about it.

Bazaar recently deemed these 10 moisturizers the absolutely best moisturizers under $30. I adore everything Burt's Bees, Olay and Aveeno does. Personally, I hate facial oils because they clog my pores.

The Dermatologist's Favorite
Personally, I can speak to the efficacy of RoC's 5-in-1 Multi Correxion Daily Moisturizer. In fact, all the RoC products work beautifully. A dermatologist recently told me (watch the video here) it was her favorite drugstore brand.

News Anchor Karen Borta's Beauty Secrets

Trust me when I say this: Karen Borta is a ray of sunshine. The CBS11 anchor and mom of three is as authentic, warm and gracious in person as she is on TV.

She's also is also gorgeous. Karen and I shared hours together in the makeup room. She always impressed me with her ability to apply her makeup in a way that looks polished and effortless. Even more impressive? She's usually doing it while talking on the phone to one of her three kids.

Karen is a treasure trove of beauty and makeup secrets. Mark these down because the results are stunning.

Karen Borta's Beauty And Makeup Secrets

How long does is take you to put on your makeup for a newscast?
To do my makeup in hair, it takes a little over 30 minutes.

What’s the quickest you have done it when you’ve been in a pinch?
I think my record is about 10 minutes. I had to get onto the set earlier than expected for breaking news. I think I was even applying mascara from the set in the seconds before they went to me live.

What are your favorite makeup products and why?
When we began broadcasting in HD, I discovered the importance of wearing less heavy-looking makeup. I started using makeup from our makeup consultant at Colourbasis.com and MAC, and I switched out my normal foundation for mineral powder. The result is a much lighter, but still glamorous look.

What’s your favorite makeup trick? (I love a contouring secret a makeup artist taught me years ago. You can watch a YouTube video Tracy Kornet & I did detailing it, with a bonus Karen Borta appearance, here.)
I’ve picked up quite a few makeup tricks over the years, but my big fave is not only contouring the cheekbones, but also along and under the jawline to magically get rid of that dreaded “double chin”.
Do you have a beauty secret or beauty product you swear by?
GrandeLash MD, no contest. I hate using false eyelashes, but my own are so skimpy I need SOMETHING to make my eyes “pop”.  I used a prescription eyelash extender for five years, but when a friend recommended GrandeLash MD, and I saw the comparative cost I decided to give it a try. It comes in a tube and goes on like liquid eyeliner. Within two or three weeks, my lashes were much longer, thicker-looking, and curly!  They look so lush, a makeup artist I was recently working with thought I was wearing lash extensions!

What is your favorite beauty/anti-aging product on your makeup counter at home?
A friend of mine turned me on to Rodan + Fields for their anti-aging products. They’re the dermatologists behind “Proactive” acne treatments. It’s not cheap, but I really like the way it works for me.

What’s your off-camera makeup routine?
On most days I use my MAC concealer where needed and blend it (sometimes I’ll use a light dusting of mineral powder), mascara, and lip gloss.

What’s the one question you get asked about all the time or the one comment viewers ALWAYS have when they see you in person.
“You look a lot taller on TV”. Always. I never realized I was so short! J

In a few sentences, can you describe your approach to staying beautiful?
I try to eat healthfully, exercise regularly, and never leave the house without sunblock, but Mother Nature has a way of catching up. So, I have a photofacial (laser treatment) about once a year to remove the sun damage caused from playing tennis during the summer months-- when no amount of sunscreen keeps me from browning up. It really helps take years off my appearance.

And I try to maintain a happy, positive outlook on things whenever possible. There’s something about laughter that causes a glow from within. And it’s a much cheaper alternative to plastic surgery!

Beauty Secrets Of TV Anchors: WFAA's Shelly Slater

shelly slater, wfaa tv
Image via WFAA.com
WFAA news anchor Shelly Slater is not only a pro at her job, she's also has some killer beauty secrets up her sleeve. As the mother of two boys, she can also teach us thing or two about getting ready quickly.
How long does is take you to put on your makeup for a newscast?
10 minutes.

What’s the quickest you have done it when you’ve been in a pinch?
Less than 5 minutes with no mirror.

What are your favorite makeup products and why?
I love MAC. It stays and it covers!

What is your favorite bargain makeup or beauty product?
Mascara - I love Great Lash. I also use cheap Rimmel bronzer. I buy a lot of stuff at CVS.

What’s your favorite makeup trick? (I love a contouring secret a makeup artist taught me years ago. You can watch the YouTube video Tracy Kornet & I did detailing it here.)
A light natural gold liner IN the bottom part of your eye. It takes away redness and makes your eyes look bigger. A makeup artist taught me that one.

Do you have a beauty secret or beauty product you swear by?
Aquaphor. It’s awesome for everything. I put it around my eyes, my lips, cuts, EVERYTHING. I read Beyonce did this, so I tried it, and during the winter it works.

What is your favorite beauty/anti-aging product on your makeup counter at home?
I have so many bottles of stuff it’s beyond nuts.  NeoCutis has a great vitamin C that goes ON TOP of your sunscreen to really block the sun. Seemed strange at first, but I think it’s great.

What’s your off-camera makeup routine?
Tinted sunscreen, bronzer, gloss, mascara. Sometimes, nothing but the tinted sunscreen. The weekends I try to let my skin breathe because I have to wear so much during the week.

What’s the one question you get asked about all the time or the one comment viewers ALWAYS have when they see you in person?
You look younger, cuter, and thinner in person.  Often people say they my voice tips them off that it’s me. Apparently, I look really different in person!? Sometimes I think hmmmm….so I look old, and large on TV. That’s awesome!

Describe your approach to staying beautiful?
I just try to not get hung up on it all. I have melasma that won’t budge from having two boys. Now I am trying to embrace it as part of the history of my life. Your body, your laugh lines, as cheesy as it sounds, it’s part of your story.   I eat well, but I cheat a lot, too, but I think that keeps me on track in an odd way.  I used to work out to burn calories,  now it clears my mind. Something about already fatiguing muscles by 7am, starts my day off right.  I just try to keep a balance, because inner happiness is what makes people beautiful.

Shelly and I share a similar approach to fitness. In fact, I often joke that I don't go to therapy. Instead I exercise.

Beauty Secrets of TV Anchors: CBS11's Adrienne Bankert

TV anchors know more than a thing or two about working a blowdryer and applying makeup. They are as savvy as anyone at doing their makeup and hair because it's an integral part of the job, for both women and men. In fact, I received just as much email about my hair and lipstick color as I did about the Dallas Mavericks.

TV markets like New York and LA have makeup artists do their makeup at local news stations but just about every anchor in Dallas/Fort Worth does their own. We had a makeup artist until about 2008 while I was at CBS11 and Lord knows I appreciated every dark circle she was able to cover.

So who better than to share expert tips than some familiar Texas news faces. I enlisted the help of my TV news friends for insider tips and tricks to get gorgeous in no time.

Let's start with CBS11 morning anchor Adrienne Bankert who has to be camera-ready at 4:30am Monday-Friday. She handles those early morning perfectly and looks effortlessly gorgeous in the process.

1) How long does is take you to put on your makeup for a newscast?
 Between 15 & 20 minutes - but I can make it work in 10 if I'm in a hurry.

3) What are your favorite makeup products and why?
There is this line out of Tempe AZ called "SkinScript". It's all I use now. Everything works - and I'm thankful that it's helped me take care of my skin! Plus it's affordable so that's awesome.

4) What is your favorite bargain makeup or beauty product?
Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Lipstick in "Kiss Me Coral"

5) What’s your favorite makeup trick? (I love a contouring secret a makeup artist taught me years ago. You can watch the YouTube video Tracy Kornet & I did detailing it here.)
My favorite is the MAC Pro Conceal and Correct Palette. For years I tried covering every blemish, dark spot and zit with the same color and while it's not impossible it doesn't work as well as corrective color. Just a tiny bit. You don't need a lot.

The BIGGEST secret for me is you don't need as much make up in TV as we used to - it's all about application.

I don't even use traditional foundation anymore. Just correct the spots and set it with Jane Iredale powder.

6) Do you have a beauty secret or beauty product you swear by?
The Jane Iredale powder is great on its own, but  if I'm going out ANYWHERE the eyes have to be done.  So glad I learned how to fill in my eyebrows ( it's been a process but a life changing one!!)  I don't EVER get my eyebrows waxed - I just maintain what I have and need to pluck a few periodically. Plus I love a light, smoky eye. So pretty much every day I'll use my eyeshadow brush to line my top and bottom lashes. It just gives a soft, natural effect.

7) What is your favorite beauty/anti-aging product on your makeup counter at home?
Well the SkinScripts anti-aging moisturizer is great. But I also love eye shadow primer. Most of which are anti aging. My eye makeup lasts all day plus it's less pulling on my eye lids which I hope prevents aging!!

8) What’s your off-camera makeup routine?
I do a little concealer with light powder & mascara, brows, lip gloss. But sometimes I like getting away with the bright lip colors Like bright purple, neon orange.

Overall though I look pretty much the same off and on camera ;) even on TV I aim for a "natural" look.

9) What’s the one question you get asked about all the time or the one comment viewers ALWAYS have when they see you in person. (For me, it’s “I didn’t know how tall you were!”)
Definitely the tall comment! "You're taller than I thought!" Or "How early do you have to get up?" "How do you look so fresh and awake that early in the morning?

10) Describe your approach to staying beautiful.
To stay really "beautiful": I ask women who are older than me but very youthful & radiant what THEY do. I'm always aiming to make decisions as if I'm going to be here in 100 years & can still turn heads! I make a concerted effort to stay relaxed by singing in the shower, prayer and regular manicure & pedicures. Stress & worry can age you more than anything so when it starts coming on I slow down - shift my priorities and make sure I'm rejuvenated to face the day! And no matter what - keep the hair maintained! Our hair is our crown - it's taken me years to discover what works. I have a non-formaldehyde keratin treatment done on my hair every 4 weeks . It keeps my hair straight, strong & manageable even after working out. Great hair, luminous skin & a smile of gratitude. It's a journey to being the BEST, most authentic version of ourselves but whatever can be done to boost that grace & confidence - that is true beauty.

The Takeaway
What a great philosophy! I love that Adrienne appreciates that we can learn so much from mature women who take a proactive approach to aging.
